Job Description

Account Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all national wholesalers, ensuring mutual partnerships driving long-term success
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all national wholesaler accounts, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to assess account performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Travel (interstate) where required, ensuring key contact points are maintained  to drive relationships

Stock Management:

  • Manage weekly SOH / SOO levels to align to demand planning and production capability,
  • Daily review of Wholesaler orders to ensure sufficient stock, influence Wholesalers to increase stock where appropriate, and prepare suggested orders.
  • Weekly review of SLOB stock in wholesalers and our sheds across the country, prepare and execute on liquidation strategies
  • Review missed sales reports within wholesalers, understand the causes and problem solve to rectify.

Sales & Growth:

  • Drive sales initiatives and strategies to meet and exceed sales targets for beer, cider & RTD  products.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the national wholesaler network.
  • Work closely with marketing / brands teams to execute promotional activity, campaigns, and product launches that drive sales growth and brand awareness.

Market Analysis & Strategy:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer preferences to provide insights for product development and sales strategies.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to optimize product offerings and improve account performance.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop tailored promotional strategies and support the growth of brands in national wholesaler accounts.

Negotiations & Contracts:

  • Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and promotional agreements with national wholesalers.
  • Ensure that agreements align with the company’s strategic objectives and deliver favorable outcomes.
  • Review and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and conditions.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Leadership:

  • Work closely with logistics, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and account satisfaction (DIFOT)
  • Provide internal stakeholders with key account updates and market intelligence.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to forecast demand and ensure product availability for national wholesalers.

Reporting & Performance Metrics:

  • Track and report on sales performance, account growth, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to national wholesalers.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on account status, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Develop and present quarterly and annual account reviews, showcasing successes and outlining strategic plans.

Compliance & Brand Representation:

  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and industry standards related to the distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • Represent the brand professionally in all communications and negotiations, ensuring a strong, positive image.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or account management, ideally within the beverage or alcohol industry.
  • Proven experience managing national or large-scale accounts with a focus on wholesaler partnerships.
  • In-depth understanding of the beer industry, market dynamics, and distribution channels.
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Analytical skills to assess market trends and sales data.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in managing accounts in the beer and alcohol industry.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales management software.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and develop solutions that enhance the wholesaler relationship.
  • Strong focus on achieving targets and driving growth.
